Position Introduction Cimarron is seeking

Structural Designers

to provide design support for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations including Vandenberg AFB, CA; Fort E. Warren AFB, WY; Malmstrom AFB, MT; and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital U.S. Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground‑based leg of the nuclear triad – the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an on‑site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.

Responsibilities

Produce structural design drawings and documentation for steel, concrete, reinforcing steel, cold‑formed steel, and anchor bolts, including seismic detailing, in accordance with established design scope and standards.

Coordinate daily technical work with engineers and other project groups, integrating subcontractor/vendor information into design solutions and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Facilitate technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and regulators, communicating complex issues and recommending solutions to project leadership.

Review existing site conditions, as‑built drawings, and design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and constructability, participating in design reviews as needed.

Prepare or assist in developing cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, forecasts, and change orders to support project execution.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.

Ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.

Must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID‑compliant driver's license or state‑issued identification card at the time of hire.

Ability to complete a pre‑employment background check and drug screening, which will include testing for marijuana use.

Proficiency in TEKLA software for detailing steel and reinforced concrete structures.

Ability to independently execute detailed designs for complex steel and/or concrete structures.

Thorough knowledge and application of detailing for steel construction, ACI Detailing Manual SPI‑66, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Strong understanding of engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications) and construction methods for concrete and steel structures.

Familiarity with work processes of other disciplines and departments in multi‑disciplinary projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical issues.

Proficient in office automation tools for engineering documentation and workflow management.

Broad knowledge of structural engineering design principles and their practical application.

High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

Active Secret Clearance.

Experience working with government agencies, preferably the DoD.

Experience with United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Computed‑Aided Design (CAD) Standard ERDC/ITL TR‑19‑7.

Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
