Job Summary Perform mechanical engineering work through the life cycle of equipment from design development, to construction, installation and maintenance for industrial, commercial, and aerospace facilities. Work will entail performing in‑field walk‑downs of sites and facilities, analyzing systems and components, preparing design concepts, sketches and drawings, compiling data and writing technical narrative reports. Assigned work tasks will be diversified and require successful candidates to “think outside the box” and work well with multi‑disciplinary engineering design teams.
Responsibilities
Assist with facility mechanical and/or plumbing design engineering (plans, specifications, calculations and cost estimates) for new facilities, facility modernization and aerospace ground support facilities and equipment projects.
Perform system sizing calculations using engineering software and tools such as HVAC heat load calculations (Trane TRACE), pump sizing calculations, and plumbing system sizing under supervision.
Perform facility condition assessments and capital asset management planning.
Perform detailed construction cost analyses using RSMeans CostWorks and material take‑offs of a variety of building types and equipment types (both US and international locations).
Perform field construction support.
Learn and apply ASHRAE, NFPA, and international/local building codes.
Write technical design narrative reports and engineering trade studies.
Work with multi‑disciplinary design teams.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Experience: Zero to two years’ experience. Prefer prior engineering co‑op/internship experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams/Sharepoint and email applications.
Experience in Autodesk Revit (and experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, PTC Creo or Solidworks and other modeling/drafting software preferred).
Experience in construction cost estimation software such as CostWorks or design markup/take‑offs in Bluebeam preferred.

Physical Demands
Performing inspections and providing construction support may require climbing ladders and stairs and accessing spaces such as roofs, basements, crawl spaces or utility tunnels.
Industrial site investigations and field construction support may require extensive walking.

Compensation & Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $72,000 – $80,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This role is also eligible for performance‑based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:
