The Role We’re looking for an

Accounting and Tax Manager

to join our Finance Department and contribute to our mission of transforming clinical research through data-driven insights.

In this role, you will oversee all accounting operations and ensure compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting, optimizing processes, and supporting strategic business decisions through accurate, timely financial insights.

Job Requirements What you'll bring

7+ years of post‑qualified experience as a finance professional, preferably with experience in commercial finance.

You have experience and knowledge of IFRS reporting.

You have experience of working in a global environment with colleagues dispersed around different continents, with multiple entities and operating environments around the world, and you’re comfortable with European and US based businesses.

Whilst we don’t expect you to be a tax specialist, you have broad knowledge and experience of working with tax advisors on implementing transfer pricing, government tax incentive schemes, sales taxes in Europe/US, corporate income tax returns, etc.

You are fluent in French and English.

You have experience in managing a small team. You have experience of supporting commercial/business teams in decision‑making analysis and support.

You are proficient in Excel and have an understanding of ERPs and related products.

Qualified accountant with a recognised local accountancy body – advantageous.

It’s also an advantage if you have SaaS/software experience in a high growth environment (growth/private equity owned is an even bigger plus) and understand key SaaS accounting principles around revenue and cost recognition and capitalisation of R&D.

Job Responsibilities What you’ll be doing Systems, Policies & Procedures

Work closely with Director of Accounting & Tax (who is based in the UK).

Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the Belgium and Poland group entities whilst assisting on the UK and US subsidiaries on an ad‑hoc basis.

Assisting in improving the existing technology systems where needed (e.g. accounting/ERP, expenses, payroll, tax, credit control, CRM, etc) and assisting with the implementation and upgrading of modern and scalable finance systems. Note we are already in the middle of implementing Oracle Netsuite as the ERP.

Reviewing, amending and creation of existing and new company policies (in conjunction with other teams where relevant) around all relevant matters including employees, expenses, compensation plans, governance, delegation of authority, and the enforcement of these policies.

Monthly Closing

Manage the Belgium‑based Accounting and Tax team.

Oversee the accurate and consistent bookkeeping and accounting of all transactions for both the Belgium parent company as well as the Polish subsidiary.

Provide support as needed in regards to the UK and US subsidiaries.

Maintain the company’s accounting policies (including revenue and cost recognition, accrued revenue, capitalisation and depreciation of assets, gross margin calculation, categorisation of exceptional or one‑off items, etc).

Responsible for the calculation and creation of the inter‑company and transfer pricing invoices.

Assist in the production of accurate monthly management accounts (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements and commentary) for all corporate entities and the consolidated group (IFRS compliant) within 5 working days of month‑end.

Assist with the production of the monthly financial reporting packs for the Leadership team and Board of Directors.

Assist with the calculation of consolidation FX revaluation.

Provide any other regular or ad‑hoc financial analysis the company requires.

Payroll & Expenses

Administer and enforce the company’s expense policies.

Responsible for the allocation of payroll to departments, along with the bonus and commission calculations.

Customer Billing

Review of customer contracts in conjunction with the Legal team.

Support the Project Managers with contract execution.

Review of the customer contracts creation and production of the deferred revenue posting.

Creation of all customer invoices including licenses and professional fees.

Support Sales on the status of customer contracts and complete the review of outstanding/billed/paid invoices.

Working with the PMs to ensure that timesheets are submitted and accurate.

Assist the credit control function and optimise cash collection, keeping debtor/supplier days within an optimal range.

Audit & Statutory Compliance

A key team member in managing annual financial audits (using a top 4 global auditor) under IFRS accounting standards. Note we will be reporting under both Belgian GAAP and IFRS.

Take lead in producing all necessary financial statements, disclosures, analyses, documents, policies and evidence to successfully conclude global audits (Belgium entities).

Leading in producing statutory accounts/financial statements and corporate/tax returns for entities within the group and file all necessary regulatory returns Belgium and Poland as well as assisting on statutory reporting in other jurisdictions in which the group operates in.

Tax Compliance

Lead on ensuring that the company and its Belgium and Polish subsidiaries are tax compliant across corporate entities, employees, sales and all other areas at all times.

Assist in reviewing, amending and maintaining the company’s transfer pricing policies.

Ensure sales tax compliance in all jurisdictions the company sells into.

Maintaining the company’s adherence and compliance to government R&D tax incentive schemes.

Policies & Procedures

Support the review of existing and the creation of new company policies (in conjunction with other teams where relevant) around all relevant matters including employees, expenses, compensation plans, governance, delegation of authority, and the enforcement of these policies.

Stakeholder Management

Cultivate strong internal relationships across the business to support and provide problem‑solving solutions and assist with governance and control.

Work closely with and support other finance functions (FP&A, Data & Analytics).
