About The Role This position primarily handles policy maintenance and service of an assigned portion of accounts. It aims to maintain a high level of client retention by managing day‑to‑day service needs, marketing, quoting, and providing extraordinary client service while contributing to profitable growth through retention, renewal, up‑selling, and proactive account rounding.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships, assisting client advisors in decisions on account updates and coverage for mid‑size to large accounts.

Review exposures and insurance programs with client advisors, determine best carrier fit based on coverage, protection, and cost.

Market, quote, and prepare proposals from a risk management and insurance perspective.

Provide day‑to‑day service, anticipate client needs, and respond promptly to inquiries.

Handle initial claim reports, ensure proper claim progression, and meet client expectations.

Monitor carrier activities to confirm fulfillment of responsibilities including endorsements and claims.

Complete account reviews and aim to round out each portfolio, including solicitation of additional lines.

Keep clients informed of pending insurance changes that may impact coverage.

Assist or complete tasks directed by platform management.

Maintain professional, accurate communication with clients, team, and carriers.

Preserve confidentiality of client records.

Seek referrals and follow-through to generate new business.

Refer clients to Benefits and Personal Insurance departments when appropriate.

Coach and mentor junior commercial line members and lead team meetings as needed.

Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

High level understanding of accounting or strong math skills.

Advanced critical thinking and problem‑solving when solutions are not obvious.

Attention to detail producing outcomes with minimal errors.

Adaptability to change in direction and priority in a fast‑paced environment.

Advanced proficiency with technology, including MS Office.

Knowledge of Agency Management Systems; Applied Epic is a plus.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compliance with continuing education requirements for agent licensing and professional designations.

Continuous learning of industry information, production changes, coverage updates, and technology.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of commercial insurance experience (or equivalent).

Hold and maintain an appropriate state Property and Casualty License for South Carolina.

Obtain and maintain advanced designations such as CISR Elite, CIC, or others.

Applicants should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross‑functional partnership.
