About This Role Axsome Therapeutics seeks a Specialty Account Manager (SAM) to execute commercial activities for assigned geographies, establish relationships with customers, and ensure successful promotion of AUVELITY for major depressive disorder in adults and potential future indications. The role is field‑based and requires access to clinic or hospital settings while maximizing engagement through digital channels.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Proficient in virtual and live customer engagements
Develop a comprehensive territory business plan to achieve quarterly & annual goals
Promote products within approved labeling, consistently and ethically
Build strong customer relationships by understanding needs
Serve as consultant regarding payer policies and processes
Maximize marketing resources to grow confidence in prescribing Axsome medications
Communicate territory activity accurately and timely
Provide feedback on changing environment and results
Complete training classes on schedule
Perform administrative duties accurately
Manage promotional budget
Collaborate across corporate functions
Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed
Ensure timely access for patients via services and savings programs
Travel overnight as required
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of field customer experience and/or account management; 3 years of healthcare professional experience with CNS background is preferred
5 years of proven top performance in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales
Strong psychiatry/CNS experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding results
Launch experience preferred
Must be a resident of the territory’s geography
Experience strategizing within cross‑functional teams
Excellent multitasking under aggressive timelines
Ability to thrive in uncertainty and high expectations
Patient support services experience a plus
Strong digital marketing aptitude
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
Frequent driving, including extended periods
Prolonged sitting and standing required
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs regularly
Overhead reaching required for lifting equipment
Salary & Benefits The anticipated salary range is $100,000 – $150,000. The offer will reflect experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location. Axsome offers an annual bonus, significant equity, and a generous benefits package.
