Administrative Specialist – $26.38 Hourly Opportunity for temporary employment. Accepting online applications until filled. There are an estimated 4‑6 positions available. Most temporary positions do not include benefits or paid time off except as provided by law.

Overview The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is the nation’s largest regional education agency supporting 80 public school districts and numerous other agencies in ensuring educational excellence for the region’s two million preschool and school‑age children.

This role assists LACOE with the implementation of the Business Enhancement System Transformation (BEST) Project for 97 Los Angeles County educational agencies that must be fully implemented and in production of the new Advantage System – Human Capital Management (HCM) by no later than June 30 2027.

Job Duties

Assist districts with Advantage HCM System and online document processing.

Support district system users in processing documents such as entering New Hires, Tax, Pension, Direct Deposit or Time Sheets.

Provide in‑person support at school sites; candidates selected must be able to travel to school sites.

Additional related duties may also be assigned as needed.

Standard work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime possible when necessary.

Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work with district personnel in support of the Advantage System.

Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a high‑pace environment.

One year of Excel experience.

Prior experience or knowledge of Human Resources, Time & Leave Management and Payroll is preferred.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology, organizational development, public administration, human resources, business administration, sociology, or applied statistics is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license with access to private transportation OR reliable travel between job sites using alternative means.
