Deputy Chief Rackets Investigator City of New York – Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (BXDA)

The BXDA is charged with ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By "Pursuing Justice with Integrity," the BXDA focuses on assistance for crime victims while guaranteeing fairness to defendants. The position supports prosecution and investigations, overseeing internal security under the direction of the Chief Investigator.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with the bureau's administrative functions including hiring investigators, establishing training requirements, providing performance evaluations, and creating coverage structures for investigative needs.

Provide tactical and operational supervision of investigations, including search warrants, eavesdropping warrants, evidence securing, physical surveillance, witness interviews, arrests, and other investigative and police functions.

Supervise, manage, and monitor complex and lengthy investigations.

Interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies.

Utilize computer databases and evaluate new surveillance equipment and technologies.

Work on special projects and tasks assigned by the Chief Investigator and perform other related administrative duties.

Be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

At least ten (10+) years of full‑time experience in criminal investigations.

At least ten (10) years of supervisory experience or equivalent.

Familiarity with New York City and surrounding areas and experience with police protocols.

Experience developing proactive investigative initiatives for the Detective Investigators Unit and collaboration with outside law enforcement agencies.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to supervise a diverse investigative staff.

Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Eligible City Employees with 2 continuous years of service may reside in certain upstate counties.

Salary $191,745.00 – $191,745.00
