Job Summary
The Indirect Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting indirect tax compliance processes, maintaining business license files, assisting with sales tax audits, and managing customer sales tax exemption certificates. This role ensures accurate and timely compliance with state and local indirect tax requirements.
Support customer sales tax exemption certificate processes, including documentation and record retention.
Maintain and update permanent location and jurisdiction files, sales tax tracking sheets, and indirect tax return files (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
Prepare and maintain required business licenses accurately and timely in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
Prepare, process, and review original and amended indirect tax returns and payments using paper and electronic methods to ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
Communicate effectively with state and local taxing authorities, internal teams, and management.
Compile indirect tax pay slips and submit journal entries for review and approval.
Submit sales tax and business license check requests; copy checks and tax forms; attach checks to returns prior to submission.
Support sales tax audit processes, including coordination with auditors and preparation of requested documentation.
Research sales and use tax requirements based on state statutes and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year of experience in indirect tax accounting.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with Vertex Series O and Vertex Returns software.

Salary: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00
