Our Personal Care Aides/Medication Technicians are responsible for assisting residents in medication administration and providing support with safety, comfort, and daily activities. We look for positive, dependable, caring individuals to meet the growing demand for quality care in our community.
Personal Care Aide/Medication Technician Duties Include
Assist residents, as designated by their attending physician, in medication administration.
Check medication carts for expired meds, cleanliness, and accuracy.
Account for all controlled substances going off and on duty.
Receive and document medications upon arrival from the pharmacy; prepare needed paperwork and checks; distribute and store medications appropriately.
Maintain responsibility for all medication keys and pagers at all times.
Assist residents with their medications in a timely manner in accordance with New York State Dept. of Social Services regulations and facility policies.
Conduct rounds on the assigned unit per schedule and check residents’ status at the start and end of the shift.
Assist and encourage residents with personal care as needed (dressing, grooming, oral care, hair care, nail care, shaving, toileting, bathing, walking). Report changes to the staff member in charge promptly.
Obtain and record resident weight as scheduled; report any weight change of 5 lbs. or more immediately unless orders specify otherwise.
Assist with resident laundry in accordance with standard procedures.
With resident consent, help keep the room, dresser drawers, and closet clean and orderly.
Assist with bed making daily or as needed.
