About the Opportunity A rapidly growing electrical construction and design-build contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to play a key role in supporting continued expansion across complex commercial and industrial projects. This position offers the opportunity to influence which projects the business pursues, shape estimating strategy, and contribute directly to long-term company growth.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced estimator who enjoys ownership, collaboration, and working in a fast-paced environment where technical excellence and smart decision-making are valued.
The Role As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates while supporting continuous improvement across estimating processes. You will collaborate closely with business development and project management teams and play a leadership role on complex bids, including design-build work.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and revise detailed electrical estimates, proposals, and change orders
Analyze drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFPs to determine labor, material, and equipment costs
Lead complex and design-build bids, identifying risks, assumptions, and project unknowns
Perform and oversee quantity take-offs for assigned projects
Request, review, and validate vendor and supplier quotations
Collaborate with business development and project management to ensure strong project handoffs
Track cost trends and provide insight to support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
Support estimating strategy, bid prioritization, and workload planning
Mentor and train less-experienced estimators on processes, tools, and best practices
Conduct regular follow-up on outstanding bids and customer inquiries
Required Experience & Qualifications
8+ years of electrical estimating experience
Background in commercial, industrial, or large-scale electrical construction preferred
Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical theory, and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Experience with electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid or similar platforms)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an Electrical Journeyman’s License
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction document tools (e.g., Bluebeam)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
