Procedure Scheduler – NHMP NW Plastic Surgery
Location: Westport, CT | Employment Type: Full Time | Hours: 40 hours per week, variable 8‑hour shifts between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm. Travel to Norwalk is required during the training period.
Summary Manages the scheduling and rescheduling of intricate clinical and high‑profitable procedures which equate to 4000 surgeries annually, 2000 endoscopy cases, and 300 EP services. Provides advanced level clerical and administrative support and coordinates patient care activities for physician practice operations. Schedules and manages pre‑operative testing, post‑op appointments, and the approval process for self‑pay patients needing surgery and procedures.
Responsibilities
Coordinates and schedules appointments and obtains authorizations for testing, referrals, surgical procedures, hospital procedures, and hospital admissions.
Reconciles money and financial reports for daily office deposit.
Coordinates and maintains physician schedules including meetings, teaching, and inpatient rounding.
Completes audits and assists with tracking and reporting of information as needed.
Schedules and re‑schedules high‑end procedures and/or surgeries.
Manages monthly/yearly schedules related to hospital block times and OR coordination.
Daily contact with Financial Clearance Department to assist patients with prior authorizations, self‑pay packages, and payment options.
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum three years of medical office experience; desired experience in medical procedure scheduling.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, data entry, and excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary $18.13 – $34.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
