Title: Manager of Communications and Social Media Strategy
Department: Marketing and Communications
Job Summary: The Manager of Communications and Social Media Strategy will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications and social media strategy for the company's Formula 1 power unit operation. This role combines strategic communications leadership with a strong focus on digital engagement, brand storytelling, stakeholder management, and commercial partnerships in the high‑performance motorsport environment. The successful candidate will drive the company's narrative, enhance its global reputation, drive recruiting strategies, amplify fan engagement through social media, and support commercial objectives through effective partnership activation.
Key Responsibilities: Communications Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement an integrated communications strategy that promotes the company's technical innovation, sustainability initiatives, performance achievements, and role within Formula 1.
Lead internal and external communications, including press releases, media briefings, crisis communications, and executive thought leadership content.
Oversee content creation for traditional media channels, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with brand values and regulatory requirements in F1.
Social Media Strategy & Management
Define and lead the company's social media strategy across platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok), driving audience growth, engagement, and community building.
Create and curate high‑quality, engaging content (including video, graphics, and live coverage) that highlights technical expertise, behind‑the‑scenes insights, race weekends, and partnerships.
Monitor social media trends, performance metrics, and fan sentiment to optimise content and campaigns in real‑time.
Manage community interactions, respond to enquiries, and mitigate any reputational risks on digital channels.
Partnerships & Commercial Support
Collaborate with commercial teams to activate and maximise value from sponsorships, partnerships, and B2B relationships involving the F1 power unit.
Develop partnership‑specific communication plans, including co‑branded content, event activations, and performance reporting.
Project manage cross‑functional initiatives related to commercial operations, ensuring timely delivery of partnership deliverables and communications assets, as necessary.
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, racing, marketing, legal, and commercial teams to align communications with business objectives and technical milestones.
Manage any necessary agency relationships, budgets, and resources for communications and digital activities.
Track and report on KPIs for communications impact, social media engagement, media coverage, and partnership ROI.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in communications, PR, and social media management.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
Understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
Experience with content management systems.
Excellent project management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage crises and adapt to new technologies.
