They build meaningful, long‑term relationships by using their knowledge to guide customers in furnishing everything from an entire home to a single accent piece. Skilled across a range of design styles—from classic to contemporary—Designers utilize digital tools and technology during in‑store and in‑home consultations to bring customer visions to life. In this role, you will drive sales and customer engagement by promoting programs, leveraging leads, and maintaining an active presence on the sales floor.

Day in the Life

Drive sales and provide a differentiated experience by delivering engaging customer interactions and elevated design offerings in the store, in‑home, and virtually.

Create elevated designs using preferred design tools to produce moodboards, 2D & 3D floor plans, product lists, and customer presentations.

Lead design consultations in person (in‑store or in‑home) or via email, phone, and virtual platforms.

Deliver projects on time within established timelines.

Demonstrate a clear understanding of brand aesthetics and merchandising strategy across store, e‑commerce, and catalog channels.

Maintain full knowledge of product information, care instructions, and current industry trends to provide clients with informed recommendations.

Meet individual sales, KPI, and service goals while engaging customers on the sales floor with strong selling skills.

Explain loyalty programs such as Designer Rewards, Design Trade Program, and credit card benefits to customers.

Model excellent service with a positive attitude and enthusiasm, ensuring all customers receive gracious, efficient service.

Support store training and education on design services to drive clear understanding of offerings.

Build lasting relationships with customers through networking and clienteling.

Apply basic design principles: spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior style knowledge.

Communicate effectively and translate brand vision and customer needs.

Use technology confidently (2D/3D tools, Google Suite, video conferencing, iPad) and showcase floor‑planning expertise.

Stay current on design trends and adapt quickly to business evolution.

Qualifications & Experience

Understanding of basic design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.

Excellent, timely communication skills capable of translating brand vision and customer needs.

Proficiency in technology tools (2D/3D design, Google Suite, video conferencing, floor‑planning).

Up‑to‑date knowledge of current design trends.

Proven track record of building long‑lasting customer relationships.

1+ years of relevant experience in Furniture Sales, Home Decor Design, retail, or customer service.

Experience working one‑on‑one with clients and recommending solutions.

Proficient in virtual communication platforms and design tools.
