Program Summary The 12‑month Sales Trainee Program (STP) is designed to accelerate a career in sales for early‑career professionals. The program begins on February 16, 2026 and rotates you through multiple training elements, on‑the‑job learning, and formal mentorship.

What to Expect

Learn: Participate in workshops, training sessions, and other learning opportunities to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.

Shadow: Observe experienced sales professionals to learn client interactions, sales strategies, and negotiation techniques.

Develop: Seek feedback from mentors and peers, participate in performance evaluations, and set goals for professional development.

Program Graduation Upon successful completion, graduates move into one of our sales destination roles. Final placement is based on a combination of individual preference and business needs.

Responsibilities

Support the sales team by outlining project tasks, timelines, and prospecting for new leads.

Assist in developing sales proposals, contracts, and other documentation required to close deals.

Coordinate tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables for sales projects.

Engage customers to understand their needs, address inquiries, and provide product information.

Collect customer feedback to identify improvement areas and enhance the customer experience.

Proactively learn new sales techniques, tools, and technologies that contribute to success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or 1‑3 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

Strong desire to work in a sales-focused role and learn about products, services, sales technologies, and processes at Ferguson.

Self‑motivated with a proven track record of driving results.

Natural inclination to assist customers and address their needs effectively.

Demonstrated flexibility and openness to change.

Prior professional experience or internship in sales (preferred).
