Overview
The Route Driver/Courier provides exceptional delivery and courier services. This position receives orders from a centralized dispatch, retrieves parcels/mail from different local offices, and then delivers the parcels/mail in a timely and safe manner. The position will also serve as a backup to the front or back of office functions. Overall, this position continuously offers the highest level of service to all client and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service. Duties And Responsibilities
Provides 5-star customer service to all employees (in all forms of communication). Travels a predefined courier route via automobile to deliver mail and parcels throughout the campus. Keeps log and time stamp of items received and delivered. Supports chain of custody requirements defined within the operating procedures. Performs pick-up and delivery of jobs by accurately following a map and/or written instructions. Follows Operational Service Excellence performance requirements. Responds to client requests, ensuring the accuracy of the order taken and delivery of the completed orders in a timely manner. Completes all paperwork in a timely, accurate and legible manner. Maintains compliance with state and company standards by operating a vehicle in a safe and lawful manner and following company guidelines in the event of an accident and/or injury. Presents professional appearance to clients by dressing in professional attire according to company standards. Maintains routine vehicle maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) according to company specifications; services the vehicle driven (checking fluid levels, refueling). Delivers mail and parcels throughout the campus and performs pick-up and delivery as needed. Responds to client requests accurately and in a timely manner. Proactively seeks out additional work during downtime and builds professional relationships with customers and other teams. Maintains professionalism and composure when interacting with all employees. Trains back-up and provides guidance on policies and procedures. Determines what additional support is needed when handling sensitive inquiries and provides exceptional customer service to clients. Provides front or back of office coverage as needed. Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. MS Office Suite experience; PC skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and good organizational skills. Working knowledge of MFD equipment. Understanding of shipping/receiving procedures and ability to comprehend instructions. Ability to work independently and complete projects; determine correct methods and packing material; validate packing slips for incoming/outgoing materials. Qualifications And Education Requirements
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. 2+ years prior work experience preferred. Current state-issued driver’s license with clean driving record. Ability to work assigned hours determined by manager. Excellent organizational and time management skills; analytical abilities and problem-solving aptitude. Superb written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn computer-based systems required for position functions. Maintain an overall professional appearance and attitude; adhere to policies and procedures. Physical Demands
Approximately 50% of the time this position requires physical efforts including lifting and moving packages up to 60 lbs, walking, standing, bending, and manual dexterity for operating office machinery. Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater frequently; operate standard company motor vehicle. Travel
