Art Model Clothed – Inside Higher Ed
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Instruction, the Art Model models for drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art-related classes. Work is performed under supervision of the class instructor during class hours.
Part‑time position limited to 28 hours per CMC workweek. CMC’s workweek is Saturday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent education and experience. Minimum age eighteen years. Ability to work flexible hours. Knowledge of classic and traditional poses preferred. Ability to take directions regarding a variety of modeling assignments. Demonstrated courteous, helpful, and clear communication. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse population. Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
Salary and Benefits Hiring pay rate is $18.79 per hour, subject to adjustment based on qualifications. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
Position Closure Position anticipated to close on February 13, 2026 or until filled.
Essential Duties
Pose for fine arts studio classes; figure drawing, occasional painting, and other drawing courses for sculpture as required by the class curriculum.
Provide a full range of traditional life drawing poses, from gestures to sustained poses as required by the instructor.
Demonstrate flexibility and animation of the human form.
Maintain poses for a fixed period of time.
Pose without clothing as instructed.
Wear appropriate attire (a long robe) before and after class, and during breaks.
Pose in a variety of clothing styles.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including a motor vehicles records report is required. Incumbents will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned, including established college and program policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Regular and predictable attendance with punctuality required. Physically able to provide a full range of body gestures and poses, from quick gestures to long sustained poses.
Working Conditions Continuous sitting, occasional walking, standing, driving; occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms; use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication with the ability to reason, analyze, and perform calculations occasionally. Use of computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
