Business Development Representative (Public Sector – East Coast)

Compensation:
$75,000 Base | $90,000 OTE | Uncapped Commission

About the Role We’re looking for a motivated
Business Development Representative (BDR)
to help grow our presence across the
public sector on the East Coast , with a strong focus on
state & local government, transportation, and infrastructure organizations .
In this role, you’ll focus primarily on
outbound prospecting and relationship building
— identifying key stakeholders, starting meaningful conversations, and booking qualified meetings for our Sales Director.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys strategic outreach, has a consultative communication style, and wants to build a career in enterprise SaaS / public‑sector sales.
You will work
directly with the Sales Director for the East Coast , gaining mentorship, pipeline visibility, and hands‑on sales development experience.
What You’ll Do
Research, identify, and engage new public‑sector prospects across the East Coast
Build relationships with key decision‑makers and influencers
Run targeted outbound campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn, events, etc.)
Qualify prospects and schedule discovery meetings
Partner closely with Sales Leadership on account strategy
Maintain CRM accuracy and prospect communication logs
Represent our platform professionally and consultatively
Learn and contribute to improving messaging and outreach strategy
How Success Is Measured
10 qualified meetings booked per month
Quality of engagement & relationships built
Consistency of outbound activity
Collaboration with the Sales Director
This role rewards
smart outreach, persistence, and professionalism
— not spray‑and‑pray volume.
About You
1–4+ years in SDR/BDR, inside sales, or outbound prospecting
Experience selling SaaS, GovTech, infrastructure, or enterprise solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A relationship‑first sales mentality
Curiosity & ability to understand business problems
Comfort working independently in a remote environment
Desire to grow into a full‑cycle sales role over time
Bonus Points
Experience selling into
state & local government
Knowledge of construction, infrastructure, or asset management technology
Familiarity with CRM and modern sales tools
