Base pay range $77,655.00/yr - $90,719.00/yr

Madison College is seeking a visionary Content Manager to steward the institution’s voice and guide a cohesive, high-impact content landscape that reflects clarity, consistency, and purpose.

This role sits at the center of the college’s messaging engine by creating the playbook for how content is crafted, messages are aligned, and audiences are inspired. In this strategic role, you will build frameworks that define how the college communicates across digital, web, and print platforms, strengthening the brand, elevating institutional priorities, and creating meaningful connections with the diverse audiences we serve.

The position requires exceptional writing and editing proficiency, the ability to translate complex information into compelling, audience-centered narratives, and skill in conducting stakeholder discovery to inform content direction. With expertise in content governance across complex organizations and projects, you will bring Madison College’s mission to life through thoughtful, integrated, and future-focused storytelling that advances enrollment, engagement, and institutional impact.

This is full-time, salaried position offering exceptional benefits, including participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System and some option for remote work (2-3 days per week).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Lead institutional content strategy by planning, developing, and overseeing content across platforms to align with audience needs, strategic priorities, and the Madison College brand.

Exercise editorial authority and governance by writing, editing, curating, and remediating content to ensure messages are consistent, accurate, and aligned with institutional priorities.

Provide best practices to leadership, stakeholders, and vendors on messaging, content development, and governance to enhance quality, accessibility, and consistency across the institution’s communications ecosystem.

Guide content discovery and stakeholder engagement by leading sessions with schools and programs, synthesizing input, and framing strategies to authentically represent diverse voices while aligning with institutional goals.

Manage editorial projects and publications such as annual reports, strategic documents, newsletters, and storytelling initiatives.

Develop and produce engaging content for digital, print, video, and social platforms that connects audiences to the college’s mission and values.

Integrate content across channels by collaborating with creative, web, communications, and social teams to amplify messaging and ensure a cohesive audience experience.

Apply digital and web expertise by optimizing content using SEO, accessibility standards, and analytics to improve discoverability and measure effectiveness.

Contribute to an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficient writing and editing skills for clear, compelling, audience-focused content across digital and print platforms.

Knowledge of brand and messaging governance principles, including identifying and correcting inconsistent or outdated messaging.

Knowledge of content strategy frameworks, including planning, governance, and audience journey mapping.

Skill in leading complex editorial projects involving multiple stakeholders and timelines.

Skill in developing accessible, audience-centered storytelling that translates complex information.

Proficiency with digital and social media tools, including content management systems, SEO, analytics, and social media monitoring platforms.

Ability to collaborate, influence, and engage stakeholders in adopting content strategies and best practices.

Skill in engaging positively with all populations and contributing to a safe and inclusive work environment.

Skill in effective and respectful communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree. An associate degree may be considered with equivalent relevant additional work experience.

Four to six or more years of relevant, professional, and progressive work experience.
