Responsibilities and Authorities
Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations.
Display honesty and integrity.
Be an inspirational leader able to motivate team members to be consistently engaged in serving others.
Build strong partnerships with internal customers and outside vendors.
Specific Duties
Greets guests upon arrival; assists with seating as needed.
Present menus, wine lists to guests and describe all daily specials.
Takes food and beverage orders accurately and courteously; responds to guests’ questions regarding food and beverage items.
Opens, presents, and pours wines and champagnes in a professional manner as needed.
Accurately writes tickets for food and beverage items; turns tickets into kitchen/bar in a timely manner; coordinates with kitchen staff to clarify any special requests.
Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations; verify legal drinking age of guests as needed.
Review food order for accuracy and presentation prior to delivering to patron; coordinate with kitchen staff to rectify any deficiencies.
Refill guests’ beverages as requested; monitor guests during meals to provide for all needs.
Suggest desserts to guests at completion of meal; accurately take and deliver dessert orders.
Deliver accurately itemized bill receipt to guests upon meal completion.
Handle purchasing transactions, including operating cash register and accounting of daily sales.
Receive payment from guests; make change as needed; issue receipts.
Clear and reset tables as needed.
Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of all beverage selections available and characteristics/description of every wine/champagne on the wine list and by the glass; all menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, presentation, and prices.
Always maintain cleanliness and sanitation; perform closing clean‑up duties.
Resolve guest problems and complaints; use own best judgement, or refer to F&B Manager as needed.
Assist other staff members as needed to ensure optimum service to all guests.
Complete all necessary paperwork; maintain files and records.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
1–2 years of food server experience in a full‑service restaurant.
Minimum age required to serve alcohol.
