Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

to plan, organize, direct, conduct, and evaluate therapeutic recreational programs for special populations. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the quality of life and well-being of participants through purposeful and inclusive recreation services. Responsibilities

Conduct therapeutic recreational activities in group settings and individual settings. Directs and organizes sports, games, arts and crafts, and exercise to encourage socialization and develop confidence needed to participate in group activities. Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate patient progress/treatment plans. Prepare progress charts and periodic reports for medical staff and other members of the treatment team, reflecting patients' reactions and evidence of progress or regression. Organize and conduct special therapeutic recreation outings, such as ball games, rodeos, sightseeing, picnics, museums, and field trips. Perform CNA services for residents when away from the facility. Assist in supervising, coordinating, and training volunteers, student workers, senior workers, and CNA recreation therapy aides. Escort residents to and from activities. Supervise resident workers. Assist in maintaining inventory, equipment, and materials. Assist in developing monthly Activity Calendars.
