Job Duties Hiram W. Davis Medical Center is one of 12 inpatient facilities operated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The facility, located in Petersburg, Virginia, is a 94‑bed medical facility providing acute medical diagnoses, skilled care, intermediate care, and long‑term care to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Admissions are generally permanent placement or special hospitalization for step‑down stabilization, post‑surgery rehabilitation, or long‑term care.

In this role you will perform and process X‑rays with radiography equipment and submit or transmit them to a radiologist for interpretation. You will unload portable X‑ray equipment, transport it, and take examinations ordered by physicians. You are required to obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent images, perform EKGs as needed and transmit to a cardiologist, scan exam‑related paperwork and billing documents daily per protocol, communicate regularly with dispatch and management, and interact professionally with peers, supervisory staff, and clients. You will maintain the vehicle and X‑ray equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Certification by the ARRT or eligibility for certification.

Ability to accurately and efficiently use Electronic Health Records (EHR/Cerner).

Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) system.

Knowledge of GE X‑ray equipment.

Additional Considerations

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Dual certification in ultrasound and X‑ray is preferred.

Previous experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or mental health facilities is preferred.
