Base pay range: $500 – $800 per day.
Job Description This is a freelance full‑time hours project/limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 4–12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables are completed. Conversion to full‑time staff could be a consideration for this role.
The NBC Sports On Air Graphics Team is looking for a freelance motion graphic designer to produce ground‑up broadcast motion design work and update existing templates for properties such as Sunday Night Football, NBA, Premier League, College Football, and more. You will work daily in After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D.
Collaboration with a tight group of sports design creatives is essential. You should bring a strong sense of urgency and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with the Emmy‑awarded NBC Sports creative team
Create graphic and animated elements including in‑game insert and interstitial graphics, show packages, opens, and titles
Communicate concepts and ideas to the art director and design team
Handle multiple packages and projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency
Interface well with producers and departments under tight deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
College graduate with a degree in graphic design or fine arts
Minimum 5 years experience with a network or broadcast design agency
Understanding of design implementation in network television and live sports environments
Passion for show packaging and current graphic design trends
Strong concept & storyboard design, typography, motion theory, and presentation skills
Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
Extensive knowledge of Maxon Cinema 4D (modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, dynamics, MoGraph, render optimization, Redshift, etc.)
Flexibility, detail orientation, deadline‑driven, and collaborative
Love of sports a plus
