As part of the Design Team, the Motion Art Director is responsible for the conceptual development and execution of motion graphics in service of the Peacock brand. The Motion Art Director is expected to lead the Motion Team. Working with the Head of Brand Design, the Motion Art Director is responsible for making sure all design created by the team is in line with the overall Peacock Brand strategy as well as the strategic imperatives of specific projects.
The Motion Art Director’s job requires strong conceptual skills including the ability to creatively problem solve and interpret a strategy graphically. Their background should include formal training in graphic design, typography and motion design, a current knowledge of styles and trends in design and branding, knowledge of sophisticated motion graphics techniques and video technology as well as hands on knowledge of graphics software such as After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
In addition to managing and directing work created by the team and external agencies, the Motion Art Director is responsible for executing high level projects. This involves development of full graphics packages as well as overseeing all elements of the production process including sourcing imagery, working with agencies, independent designers and artists, as well as overseeing final postproduction.
Responsibilities
Organize daily requests and projects
Communicate with producers, editors and supervisors on design project needs and requests
Delegate roles and duties on projects while coordinating freelancers and designers
Problem solve and interpret design feedback from producers, editors, supervisors and directors
Directing agencies on maintaining brand consistency and integrity on AV spots while helping execute on high end deliverables
Provide oversight and quality control on projects
Manage deadlines and a brief with superior accuracy
Storyboard/style frame promo graphics
Design, animate, and edit standalone motion graphics packages
Create assets and templates for video editors
Ideate solves that require graphics or visual effects
Create a positive and supportive culture by being solution-oriented, and encouraging collaboration and respect
Ensure that we are always pushing design boundaries and reimagining solutions for every execution, from small projects to large initiatives
Qualifications Basic Requirements
10 years of professional experience in motion graphics design
Strong proficiency & experience in motion graphics programs, including AfterEffects, and 3D programs such Cinema 4D or Maya, and its plugins
Full understanding of Adobe Design programs and Figma
Resourcefulness, diligence, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to delegate resources and communicate effectively and articulately with designers and producersStrong discipline and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
Strong strategic thinking and creative presentation skills are extremely important for the success of this position
A deep knowledge of designers, illustrators, photographers, animators, DPs and creative talent across the industry
A constantly evolving knowledge of design and art history, trends and emerging platforms
Additional Requirements
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.
