The
Associate Producer
(part-time) is responsible for contributing story ideas; writing stories; organizing them within an energetic and memorable newscast or digital content for the web. WJBF in Augusta, GA is looking for a part-time Associate Producer. This person will be responsible for editing newscasts. Must be able to work weekday and weekend afternoons and evenings. Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming
Trims recorded segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect
Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete stories.
Help Review scripts and graphics to make sure there are no spelling errors
Help Run Prompter when necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute
Understand brand building directives
Interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production, digital and engineering staff
Detail oriented
Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
Ability to develop strong news judgment
Possess journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Ability to meet quality standards for service & evaluate customer satisfaction
