Basic Job Functions Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Develop and maintain relationships with accounts to deliver best possible service through face‑to‑face and inside sales.

Become an expert in your marketplace and communicate market forecast to the commercial team.

Interact with corporate personnel and customers to resolve administrative problems (contract changes, special payment terms, and truck schedules).

Present business opportunities to strengthen customer relations and company profitability.

Stay current with the metal recycling industry by reading publications and participating in trade associations.

Handle multiple priorities while providing high‑level support to customers in a fast‑paced environment; must be willing to learn the scrap metal recycling industry.

Negotiate pricing in a fast‑paced environment.

Initiate impactful purchases, purchasing thousands of tons of material monthly.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Minimum 2 years of experience in business‑to‑business sales.

Preferences

Safety‑minded awareness and attitude.

Customer service experience is a plus.

Exceptional communication and professional presentation skills required.

Self‑motivated, decisive, and able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.

Drug‑Free Workplace Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre‑employment drug screening, which includes both urine and hair follicle testing.
