Job Summary This role will assist various departments in ordering and placing purchase orders for needed supplies and verifying receipt of goods.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to fulfill and meet company requirements.
Create purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
Order supplies for individual departments and maintain purchase requirements.
Review orders and requests to ensure vendor compliance, and recommend vendor changes when necessary.
Place orders and expedite as needed to ensure timely delivery.
Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria.
Develop and optimize vendor relationships.
Review any invoice discrepancies and apply to suppliers with requests for credits or adjustments.
Ensure that all purchase requests have been approved in accordance with authorized approval levels.
Identify the most cost‑effective freight movement.
Direct communication with manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless operation of the facility with minimal disruption of production.
Coordinate and process all Return‑To‑Vendor requests.
Perform various administrative duties such as filing, copying, etc.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Assist with any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, or a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years of prior purchasing experience (preferred).
Manufacturing background (preferred).
Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
The hourly pay rate can range between $28‑$32/hr.
Vacation hours of two weeks per year.
Sick leave benefits in accordance with State Laws.
Ten paid holidays per year.
Annual Community Volunteer paid day.
