Summary The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing and logistics tasks for Hanwha Q CELLS USA Inc. This individual will organize, control, and monitor purchasing activities of assigned spare parts for all teams and subsidiary materials for the production team, and introduce purchasing strategies targeting maximum contribution to the operating result. The position works in a cross‑functional team environment within Hanwha Q Cells USA Inc. and other subsidiaries of Hanwha Group.

Responsibilities

Track the progress of PO from creation to delivery.

Check PR/PO/GR/Payment closing (Spare Parts is physical receiving included) in QPS (Purchasing System) & SAP (Monthly AP Closing included).

Determine purchase order based on sales forecast and stock level, with weekly communication with planning team for raw materials and production team for spare parts/subsidiary materials.

Consistently check PRs created by other teams and issue PO in QPS, goods receipt, article creation and modification, system flow management, and other transactions in QPS & SAP.

Follow payment release in QPS based on vendors’ invoices and payment terms contracted or negotiated with vendors, and resolve financial issues with the Finance Department.

Key contact for coordination of actions for inventory management with planning team and logistics team.

Handle out‑of‑stock and risk management with the concerned services (Quality, import service, packaging, marketing).

Negotiate with overseas vendors and propose logistic solutions that best meet each part.

Produce monthly reports on key performance index, monthly & annual expenditures and savings (cost reduction, cost innovation, cost avoidance) in line with the business plan.

Work closely with internal stakeholders (majority teams: Planning, Finance, Logistics, Production, Quality) regarding purchasing tasks.

Negotiate with external accounts for competitive unit price and contract terms, collaborating with HQ purchasing team only for raw materials.

Supervise suppliers’ performance in lead‑time, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility.

Participate in the plant’s production plan with Planning team and capacity optimization.

Participate in inland and overseas transport optimization to reduce cost.

Manage purchasing tasks by types of suppliers to fit the materials’ properties.

Maintain close relationships with suppliers in other domains of raw material management, lead‑time, expedition, and reception.

Intensively manage a supplier when an issue occurs.

Act as key supply‑chain contact for the suppliers of the concerned scope.

Build strong collaboration network with other supply‑chain services to obtain information and synchronize processes.

Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS.

Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related fields.

0‑5 years of related experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply‑chain related field.

Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement or production planning or financial management.

Proficiency in MS Excel.

Ability to tolerate a fast‑paced work environment in areas that are not climate controlled.

Physical Requirements

Able to stand and walk in the production area throughout the workday.

Reach, push, pull, or lift as required within limits set by Q Cells.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience.

Experience in high‑tech manufacturing industry and startups.

Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP.

Proficiency in CAD program.

Bilingual fluency in both Korean and English.
