Construction Superintendent

A well-established and respected construction firm in Southwest Colorado is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on high-quality projects in the Durango area. This is a confidential search for a hands-on leader who takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and delivering projects the right way.

Position Overview

The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily jobsite operations from mobilization through project completion. This role requires strong leadership, coordination skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and quality while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day field operations from start to finish
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and schedules
  • Maintain project schedules and proactively address delays or conflicts
  • Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance
  • Ensure work is completed per plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively with project management, ownership, and inspectors
  • Track progress, assist with punch lists, and support closeout activities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
  • Background in commercial construction, custom residential, or a mix of both
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
  • Proven ability to lead job sites and subcontractors independently
  • Safety-driven, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
