Procurement Specialist

Responsible for finding goods and services required by the organization while ensuring the best quality, price, and delivery terms. The primary objective will be to source and buy materials, products, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, while building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for obtaining materials, parts, equipment, and services.
2. Reviews requisitions, obtains quotations, examines bids, and makes awards.
3. Develops new supply sources when vendors are inadequate.
4. Coordinates buying activities with departments to achieve desired company objective.
5. Tracks the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned commodities to assure best quality at best value (total cost of ownership).
6. Tracks and evaluates vendor reliability and performance.
7. Assures timely purchases, delivery, and receipt of complex materials and services.
8. Ensures lowest overall total cost of complex materials and services through the development and choice of qualified suppliers.
9. Develops comprehensive request for quotation/bid process to assure customer and company specifications are met.
10. Negotiates purchase agreements providing contractual protection for the company according to policy guidelines.
11. Administers buying, supplier, and compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (0-2 Years w/ Masters) (2-3 Years w/ Bachelors) as a buyer in procurement-related roles.
• Solid understanding of procurement principles, practices, and supplier management.
• Proficient in using procurement software and systems, as well as MS Office Applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree preferred.

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the VOLT Agency. Salary: $25.05/Hour - $32.50/Hour
