Heavy Civil Estimator
We are seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator with experience estimating construction projects involving underground utilities and/or DOT-related scopes. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including underground utility and DOT scopes
- Perform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and risk analysis
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction
- Support bid submissions and follow-up as needed
Qualifications:
- 35 years of experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
- Experience with underground utility scopes (storm, water, sewer) and/or DOT projects
- Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Proficiency with estimating software and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with site development, roadway, or municipal infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with DOT standards and bidding procedures
