Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Draftsman / CAD Designer to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate has strong experience in AutoCAD and Fusion 360, a solid understanding of GD&T, and hands-on knowledge of aluminum extrusion and stamped part design.
This position plays a vital role in bridging product development, manufacturing, and marketing, ensuring that drawings, models, and CNC programs (a plus) meet the highest standards of accuracy and manufacturability.

Position Summary
The Draftsman / CAD Designer is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining precise technical drawings and 3D models for product development and manufacturing processes. This role will provide support material that will be used by Engineering, Manufacturing, and Marketing, ensuring that all product drawings, models, and CNC programs (a plus) are accurate, up to date, and compliant with company standards and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
● Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, assemblies, and models using AutoCAD and Fusion 360.
● Develop complete drawing packages, including dimensioned component drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs).
● Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure design precision and manufacturability.
● Conduct design revisions and manage version control across engineering and production documentation.
● Review and optimize models for tooling, material, and process requirements.
● Support first article inspections (FAIs) and assist in resolving design-related production issues.
● Ensure all drawings comply with ASME Y14.5 or equivalent industry standards.
Manufacturing Support (a plus)
● Generate and validate CNC machine code (G-code, M-code) for production.
● Collaborate with machinists and manufacturing engineers to ensure manufacturable designs.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
● Coordinate between Product Development, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams.
● Provide rendered models and technical visuals to support marketing materials, catalogs, and training resources.
● Maintain organized CAD file systems and ensure consistency across all product documentation.
● Support design reviews, prototype builds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality & Process Improvement (a plus)
● Participate in and contribute to Lean / Kaizen and continuous improvement efforts.
● Recommend process improvements in CAD workflows and CNC program optimization (a plus).
Qualifications and Skills
● Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
● Minimum 3 years of relevant drafting or design experience in a manufacturing environment.
● Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Fusion 360; familiarity with SolidWorks or Inventor is a plus.
● Strong working knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and material behavior for aluminum and sheet metal parts.
● Experience writing or editing CNC programs (G-code/M-code). – Nice to Have
● Understanding of CAM workflows, toolpaths, and CNC setup fundamentals. – Nice to have
● Strong interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
● Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and file management discipline.
