Accounting Specialist

As an Accounting Specialist, you will perform all manner of bookkeeping and accounting duties, including general accounting, payables, receivables, payroll accounting, fixed assets, WA Excise tax reporting (SALT), general ledger, financial reporting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Treasury. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Verifies and posts details of business transactions for A/P Invoices, funds received and/or disbursed. Audits invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, and readies for payment. Manage approval process for paying all bills of the company A/R invoicing of customers, aging of accounts receivables, collections, and maintaining customer accounts Managing customer credit requests and ensures adherence to credit terms granted. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data in maintaining accounting records in ERP and QuickBooks (QBO) accounting system Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules Provide support for payroll accounting Perform bank activities of bill payments, wire transfer, and reporting Provide and/or assist the Accounting Manager in the month end, and year end closing processes including monthly financial close ledger and reporting preparation Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Skills and Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Knowledgeable in accounting functions including A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Treasury, and General Ledger Ability to meet deadlines Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required Self-starter and strong ethical standards Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience; Use of formulas Great attention to detail and accuracy Experience with ERP systems Recent and relevant accounting experience with preference in a manufacturing environment Develops and improve daily processes by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer/vendor/co-worker situations; Responds promptly to organizational needs. Requests for service and assistance are responded to in a prompt manner. Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations. Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
