Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, and electrical/electronic systems to create subassemblies, assemblies, or complete units. This role involves the use of hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. The technician will fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet specified tolerances and product operating requirements, as well as repair units or products that do not meet these requirements. Responsibilities: Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, and electrical/electronic systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment for assembly. Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet required tolerances and product specifications. Repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements. Follow clearly defined procedures, tasks, and guidelines to aid in decision making. Make simple judgments in straightforward situations, selecting between established solutions. Essential Skills: Basic technical knowledge of assembly processes. Ability to follow detailed and defined instructions. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures. Additional Skills & Qualifications: No prior experience required; however, 6 months of experience is preferred. Knowledge acquired through experience, specialized education, or training. The facility is equipped with hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, MI. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
