Engineering Specialist
This position entails the responsibility of prototyping, testing, and documenting processes for all aspects of Research and Development (R&D) and product building. The R&D location manages approximately 700-800 prototypes annually, which are sent to other sites for further verification and testing. Responsibilities Manage the manufacturing and assembly process related to the up-fitting of vehicles. Perform a variety of assembly operations using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Verify completed assemblies meet engineering requirements to fulfill customer needs. Collaborate with the Operations Team to meet timelines and develop on-site early unit production. Assist in identifying, implementing, and evaluating lean initiatives to boost productivity and efficiency. Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations, purchasing, and others to develop processes. Work with the Quality Engineer to identify quality concerns and help develop and implement corrective actions. Analyze and support engineering deviations and change requests. Essential Skills Proficient experience with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in automotive settings. Experience in vehicle teardown and re-build. Ability to read blueprints. Capability to perform electrical and mechanical assemblies, including prototype assembly and vehicle development. Experience with electric vehicles and electrical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Vehicle prototype development experience preferred. Strong technical background in automotive driveline systems. Experience with electric vehicles and high voltage safety knowledge is preferred. Safety certifications are beneficial. Electrical system diagnostics background and experience. Work Environment The work environment is a manufacturing and automotive prototype testing setting. The position operates on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Maumee, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
