Mortgage Underwriter - In Office

Position: Mortgage Underwriter
Location: Melville, NY
Schedule: Full-time- In Office | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Compensation: Base salary up to $90,000 + bonus eligibility

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to support increased loan volume across agency and Non-QM products. This role requires strong Encompass experience, the ability to underwrite efficiently, and a commitment to producing clean, thorough files across multiple investors.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite mortgage loan files with accuracy and efficiency

• Ensure files are clean, complete, and compliant with investor guidelines

• Review and underwrite FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, DSCR loans, and other Non-QM Products

• Work across multiple investors and programs

• Collaborate with operations and underwriting leadership to support pipeline flow

• Maintain quality standards while managing volume

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience
  At least 2 years underwriting in Encompass

• Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR loans

• Multi-investor underwriting experience

• Ability to Manually underwrite loans

Helpful but not required Experience:

• RTO loans

• Ground-up construction

• Fix & flip
