Position Overview:

The Senior Tax Manager – Partner Track oversees complex tax engagements, ensures high technical accuracy, manages client relationships, develops staff, and plays a key role in business development, positioning the candidate for partnership consideration within 2–3 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide final technical review on tax returns and related documents across the client base.
  • Research complex tax issues and develop effective recommendations.
  • Remain current on tax law changes and evolving accounting procedures.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage client engagements to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate proactively with clients to support their best interests and long‑term relationships.
  • Direct and support staff by setting objectives, managing budgets, and fostering a positive, high‑performance environment.
  • Oversee quality control and evaluate personnel performance.
  • Assign, track, and manage tasks and projects for staff and supervisors.
  • Mentor and develop team members in alignment with firm growth goals.
  • Build and maintain an internal and external network to support business development and new client opportunities.
  • Manage billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write‑downs.
  • Participate in and help facilitate internal CPE and firm training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of ten years of public accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Strong decision‑making skills with initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective under pressure.
  • Proven ability to manage a heavy workload with competing priorities.
