The Opportunity
This is a critical role for a Senior Estimator who thrives on technical complexity and wants to influence how major infrastructure and environmental projects are built. You’ll lead the preconstruction and estimating process from concept to completion — working across engineering, operations, and business development to deliver accurate, competitive, and risk-aware estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating efforts for heavy civil and environmental projects, ensuring timely, complete, and precise proposals.
- Review specifications, drawings, and bid documents to develop comprehensive cost models.
- Coordinate takeoffs, vendor pricing, and subcontractor solicitations.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and value-engineering reviews.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Maintain organized documentation and historical cost data to support future estimates.
- Support proposal development and project handoffs to ensure smooth transitions post-award.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil or environmental construction.
- Proficiency with modern estimating and takeoff software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Agtek).
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, construction methods, and project delivery mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — comfortable interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- A detail-driven mindset with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
