We are seeking a motivated and experienced
Dig Crew Lead
to join our construction team. The Dig Crew Lead will be responsible for overseeing daily excavation operations, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating crew activities, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to specifications.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead a team of dig crew members on excavation and trenching projects. Ability to pipe in sewer/water lines Operate or direct the use of heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and trenchers. Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures (OSHA and company standards). Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and utility companies. Maintain daily reports on work progress, safety incidents, and crew performance. Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks with crew members. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Ensure job sites are properly secured and equipment is maintained. Train and mentor new crew members as needed. Requirements
3+ years of experience in excavation, utility installation, or related field. 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. Strong understanding of underground utility locating and safe digging practices. Proficient in reading construction plans and utility markings. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety procedures. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications
