Join St. Marcus as our next HR Generalist! Help strengthen and shape a growing HR department focused on excellence! St. Marcus is seeking an organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented HR Generalist to support and enhance a developing HR function. In this part-time role, youll help refine systems, improve processes, and contribute to the continued growth of a people-centered and efficient HR department. Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist provides comprehensive support across all areas of the HR function. This role leverages technology to support the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through retirement by coordinating onboarding, maintaining accurate records, supporting benefits and compliance processes, and assisting with employee communications and engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding logistics
- Support recruitment, interviews, and background checks
- Maintain HRIS (Paycom) data, reports, and compliance (e.g., I-9s, PTO, timesheets)
- Assist with benefits, leaves of absence, and general employee questions
- Help develop and maintain policies, records, and the employee handbook
- Provide scheduling support to the Director of HR
- Monitor trends and suggest process improvements
- Ensure compliance with employment laws
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff and the wider community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in HR, operations, or project management preferred
- Bachelors degree or equivalent HR experience
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with a service mindset
- High level of comfort with digital tools and platforms, proficient in Google Workspace
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (Paycom experience highly desirable)
- Strong aptitude for learning new systems quickly and using technology to automate, streamline, and enhance HR processes
- A proactive mindset with a passion for improving workflows, data accuracy, and employee experience through tech-enabled solutions
