The Position Job Title: Relationship Banker I
Overview The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers. This individual will be responsible for connecting with customers to understand how best to match their needs with First United Bank products and services, as well as mentoring employees to do the same. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and an ability to establish and cultivate strong personal connections. This individual must be committed to precision and adhering to the policies and regulatory standards as they relate to the role.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and regulatory issues related to daily job functions.
Follows proper procedures for all customer-servicing activities.
Retain existing customers and develop new relationships.
Serve as customers\' single point of contact on First United Bank products and services.
Meet and exceed performance goals and participate in sales campaigns; promote new products and educate customers and peers.
Participate in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested.
Provide excellent customer service, building rapport to generate customer loyalty.
Identify and match customer needs with bank products and services, including referrals to other staff as needed.
Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other banking products; handle paperwork and data entry.
Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, notary services, online banking, etc.).
Process a variety of transactions accurately and in accordance with bank policies.
Maintain appropriate drawer limits and perform cash verifications and vault duties.
Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate and reconcile cash drawer after shifts.
Resolve customer complaints and issues proactively.
Review and resolve account issues and assist with repayment plans as needed.
Perform security functions by opening/closing bank and vault and ensuring safety of bank grounds.
Demonstrate understanding of Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the role.
Qualifications
High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred.
One year of retail experience preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Superior customer service skills required.
Basic mathematics and strong attention to detail.
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and coworkers.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision-making skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Ethical conduct and active listening skills.
