Location: Catlett, VA
Job Overview B G Crane Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Estimator to join our Estimating Department. This full-time, on-site position plays a critical role in evaluating project plans, identifying materials and labor requirements, and preparing accurate cost estimates for structural steel erection projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the construction industry, particularly structural steel, and eager to grow with a company that values both professionalism and a strong sense of family.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare steel erection cost estimates.
Identify labor, equipment, material, and time requirements for each project.
Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
Prepare and present detailed estimates, budgets, and proposals for review and submission.
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related communications.
Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure the estimate is accurate and feasible.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
Track market trends and pricing to keep estimates competitive and current.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience in estimating, preferably in structural steel or construction trades.
High School diploma or GED required.
Familiarity with reading construction blueprints and specifications.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desire to grow within a tight-knit, family-oriented team.
