Overview
Manager, State & Local Income Tax - Asset Management (Remote Option) at KPMG US. This role is part of the State and Local Tax (SALT) practice and focuses on multi-state state income tax matters for asset management clients (hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity, real estate). Responsibilities
Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge fund, fund of funds, private equity, real estate) Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing subject matter expertise and industry knowledge for alternative investments Review tax calculations and information presented on state income tax returns Build and manage client relationships, supervise, mentor, and develop staff Qualifications
Minimum five years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX, or other approved credential; if not, one year from hire to obtain at least one approved designation; check with your recruiter for the complete list of currently approved designations Experience providing services to pass-through entities and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts Able to foster relationships internally and with clients Strong ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment Exceptional writing, communication, project and team management, and tax research skills Seniority level
