Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven National Account Manager for our Commercial Division to manage and expand relationships with key national accounts. The successful candidate will oversee strategic partnerships, drive business growth, and ensure the continued success of our product offerings in the commercial sector. This role is pivotal in maintaining customer satisfaction, identifying sales opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to meet and exceed client needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Account Management

: Serve as the primary point of contact for Spartan Surfaces team members across assigned geography. Develop collaborative partnerships to drive sales growth of Ecosurfaces products through Spartan Surfaces.

Specification Development:

Work directly with architects, specifiers, designers, and owners to secure Ecosurfaces specifications. Build project pipeline and track projects utilizing Construct Connect and Salesforce. Collaborate with Spartan Surfaces team members to close sales on specified projects.

Sales Growth

: Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, maximize revenue, and expand market share within assigned accounts.

Client Strategy

: Understand client needs, develop customized solutions, and align offerings to achieve client objectives and drive long‑term relationships.

Market Intelligence

: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities and enhance the company’s position in the market.

Cross‑functional Collaboration

: Work closely with marketing, product development, logistics, and customer service teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and ensure smooth delivery of products and services.

Reporting & Forecasting

: Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to track progress against targets and inform strategic decision‑making.

Problem Solving

: Proactively address and resolve any account‑related issues, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

Training & Development

: Mentor internal and external team members, share best practices, and contribute to the overall development of the internal and external sales teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Industry Expertise

: Deep understanding of the commercial flooring industry, including trends, market conditions, and the specific needs of commercial clients.

Account Management

: Proven experience in managing large, complex national accounts with a focus on long‑term relationship building and business development.

Sales Skills

: Strong sales acumen with a demonstrated ability to close high‑value deals and deliver profitable growth.

Communication

: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate complex concepts to senior leadership and clients.

Analytical Abilities

: Strong analytical skills to assess account performance, identify business opportunities, and provide actionable insights.

Problem‑Solving

: Ability to think critically and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Team Collaboration

: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with clients.

Project Management

: Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with a focus on meeting deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.

Technology Proficiency

: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other sales‑related tools.

Leadership

: Ability to lead by example, motivate others, and contribute to a positive and results‑driven sales environment.

Travel

: Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and trade shows.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial sales role, ideally within the building materials, construction, or manufacturing industries.

Proven track record of managing large, complex accounts and achieving sales targets.

Proven track record of being able to develop specifications within the design community.

Office Environment: This position may operate in an office environment and is not expected to adverse environmental conditions.

Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high‑pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
