Cyber Security Analysts/ Cyber Security Support Technicians
to support shipboard and shore-based cyber readiness, accreditation, inspections, and training. Your efforts will help ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and resilient in the face of evolving cyber threats

Requirements Minimum/General Experience:
10 years information technology and/or cyber security experience, related to shipboard computer networks
Minimum Education:
High School diploma
Qualifications
Must meet applicable DoD 8140 / Cyber Workforce Framework (CWF) qualification requirements for assigned cybersecurity functions; required certifications must be current or obtainable within an agreed onboarding period.
Strong working knowledge of Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Manual-5510 series
Strong working knowledge of Secretary of the Navy instruction (SECNAVINST) 5239.1 series
Hands on experience with Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) process
Hands on experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) process
Hands on experience with Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) process
Hands on experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process
Hands on experience with Navy Authority to Operate (ATO) process
Strong working of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) (e.g., DODI 8510.01)
Professional Skills

Experience performing shipboard cyber evaluations or inspections (preferred)

Travel Requirements
Position is primarily based at Naval Station Norfolk
Requires periodic travel within a 50-mile radius
Additional CONUS (and limited OCONUS) travel may be required
Travel is coordinated in advance and performed in accordance with Government authorization
Key Responsibilities
Support ships in developing, managing, and maintaining their local Cyber Security and Information Assurance programs in accordance with Navy policy.
Review and track the annual security accreditation (A&A) status for all assigned CNSL ships.
Coordinate with ships and the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC) to schedule required accreditation maintenance activities under the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Work with Program of Record (POR) and Platform IT system offices to ensure accreditation documentation is current and that Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals are obtained and maintained.
Perform vulnerability compliance reviews in preparation for inspections and as directed by CNSL leadership.
Conduct onboard assessments to verify systems comply with IAVMs, CTOs, Navy Technical Directives, and Fleet Advisory Messages, including validation of required patches.
Conduct shipboard cyber training assist visits to assess and improve local cyber security and cyber readiness programs.
Coordinate with ships to ensure pre-visit requirements and required personnel participation are met for training and assessment visits.
Prepare formal pre-visit and post-visit documentation, including End of Visit Assessment Reports, using Government-approved formats.
Perform periodic and random shipboard spot checks to validate system scanning and compliance reporting.
Provide proactive outreach, remote support, and ongoing tracking of shipboard cyber programs to ensure compliance with Navy instructions, policies, and SOPs.
Coordinate with program office helpdesks and support organizations to resolve cyber-related technical issues or incidents.
Respond promptly to shipboard requests for cyber assistance during normal working hours.
Develop cyber training materials for onboard and off-ship training events in accordance with NAVEDTRA 130 series requirements.
Provide subject matter expert (SME) support for briefs, training events, and waterfront symposiums related to C5I systems, trends, and cyber issues.
Assist ship personnel with cyber bill development and Cyber Workforce (CWF) documentation and tracking
Help develop mitigation plans and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address deficiencies identified during assessments
Coordinate with NAVWAR, Afloat Training Group (ATG), and Information Warfare Training Group (IWTG) to align Site Assist Visits with certifications and scheduled assessments.
Conduct tailored onboard training to address identified cyber readiness gaps and improve performance against cyber metrics.
Observe and audit cyber warfare certification events as directed and provide recommendations for improving training processes
