Job Summary:
To underwrite a US Executive Risk account within Specialty Risks and provide counsel and advice on underwriting related issues, deliver technical expertise, and maintain and improve Beazley’s market reputation.

Key Responsibilities Underwriting
Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of US Executive Risk business as part of Specialty Risks.
Structure tailor‑made solutions by applying underwriting parameters, policy knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing.
Manage innovation and development of non‑insurance service offerings to insureds and others.
Monitor premiums, costs and claims ratios per contract, taking corrective actions to ensure long‑term profitability at the account level.
Evaluate appropriate risk premium considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure, and underwriting and general administration costs to ensure profitability, using rating models as applicable.
Monitor peer underwriters to ensure profitability and efficient, cost‑effective administration of US Executive Risk.
Supervise assistants to ensure compliance with underwriting philosophy and policy, maintaining consistency within the team and Specialty Risks.
Comply with Beazley’s underwriting control standards for business written through Lloyd’s, Beazley’s subsidiaries or internal MGAs.
Develop a good working relationship with claims managers on this class of business.
Client Management
Advise, assist and service clients on insurance and risk matters to ensure client satisfaction.
Foster positive relationships with clients to mutually understand their needs and Beazley’s offerings.
Maintain good business relationships with brokers.
Stay aware of Beazley’s overall product range and identify opportunities to introduce other products to clients.
General
Leverage networking opportunities within the business to develop standardised underwriting policy and best practice within Beazley.
Develop and disseminate best practice and business class knowledge within US Executive Risk and Specialty Risks.
Collaborate with peers to maximise business opportunities and profitability, sharing market information, marketing sources and cross‑selling opportunities.
Disseminate best practice across the Beazley Group to maximise opportunities and profitability.
Produce presentations and marketing literature as required.
Prepare business plans/research documents for the US Executive Risk account as required.

Personal Specification Essential Criteria
3‑5 years of direct underwriting experience in Crime or Crime & Fidelity products, with this line representing a significant portion of the portfolio.
Proven experience in underwriting US Executive Risk accounts, including risk assessment, pricing, and portfolio management within a regulated insurance environment.
Strong analytical and financial skills, advanced underwriting policy knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication skills for broker and client negotiations.
