Compensation HR Specialist
Join a collaborative and service-focused Human Resources team as a Compensation HR Specialist. In this role you will support developing and maintaining fair, competitive, and legally compliant compensation programs. Responsibilities include conducting classification and salary studies, preparing market analyses, producing compensation reports, and ensuring accuracy of HRIS data and pay transactions.
Salary Range:
HR Specialist
$58,000 - $68,000;
Senior HR Technician
$53,500 - $62,500.

Key Responsibilities
Participate in and analyze salary surveys and market data to benchmark existing positions and identify compensation trends.
Assist in evaluating new and existing positions to determine appropriate job classifications, salary scales, and FLSA status.
Collect, maintain, and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of compensation data within HRIS and other compensation systems. Manage data within Excel, including pivot tables.
Support efforts to ensure all compensation practices comply with federal, state, and local laws, including FLSA and EEO.
Prepare reports and presentations summarizing compensation analysis and recommendations for management and HR partners.
Respond to compensation-related inquiries from employees and managers, providing clear and concise information.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience or internship in human resources or related analytical role.
Advanced experience utilizing Excel for compensation and other HR-related tasks.
Familiarity with HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft).
Knowledge of federal and state compensation laws and regulations.
Typical Duties
Analyze, summarize, and review data and reports, interpret results, and make recommendations.
Perform research and gather new information as needed to assist management or department staff.
Assist employees, management, staff, and members of the general public with HR information, policies, and procedures.
Provide administrative and clerical support to management and professional HR staff.
Receive calls and/or greet visitors, take and relay messages, respond to requests for information.
Maintain files and electronic records, including employee data and HRIS.
Provide front desk coverage as needed.
Prepare meeting rooms and take minutes in meetings.
Perform other related technical duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent plus four years of increasingly responsible technical HR and/or program coordination experience. Education may substitute up to two years of experience.

Strong knowledge and application of principles and practices of assigned HR functions.
Ability to perform duties under general supervision with high degree of independence.
Well organized, detail-oriented, and prioritize work objectives within established timelines.
Demonstrated discretion, judgment, and decision making.
Understand and follow relevant HR policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Knowledge of and ability to apply established office procedures, data handling, records management.
Proficient in desktop computer operation, including Word, Excel, and HRIS.
Operate standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Light physical effort; generally comfortable working positions.
Exposure to computer screen monitoring; intermittent stress from human behavior and responsibilities.
Full Time position; 40-hour week.
