Senior Property – Commercial Office
As a Senior Controller in a successful and fast‑paced Manhattan‑based commercial real estate firm, you will serve as a high‑impact leader within a highly collaborative accounting team. This is a dynamic, on‑site role designed for a hands‑on strategist who thrives in collaborative environments and seeks direct exposure to every facet of sophisticated real‑estate operations. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will bridge the gap between complex financial data and high‑level business strategy. Core Responsibilities
Manage consolidated financial statements, investor capital calls, and year‑end audits ensuring strict adherence to GAAP and debt covenants. Oversee daily functions including general ledger maintenance, A/R adjustments, accounts payable, and monthly accruals. Handle bank reconciliations, cash flow projections, loan draws, and distribution waterfalls. Perform income statement variance analysis, review tenant leases, and manage CAM/Real‑Estate Tax escalations. Compile year‑end tax workpapers, manage sales tax compliance, and oversee 1099 filings. Lead financial reporting meetings and continuously refine internal controls and accounting procedures for efficiency. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 6+ years of experience as a Senior Property Accountant or Controller level within commercial real‑estate accounting. Experience with Yardi Voyager is a must, as well as Microsoft Excel proficiency. Proven track record of supervising, coaching, and mentoring accounting staff. Strong analytical problem‑solving, professional communication, and the ability to manage competing deadlines. Compensation
$150,000 – $180,000 plus bonus, 401k, comprehensive medical/dental/vision health benefits, and other valuable perks. The above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity and other non‑cash incentives.
