Job Summary — Essential Functions/Duties Under close supervision, the Cybersecurity Analyst I supports fundamental cybersecurity and information assurance activities to help protect information systems operating in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This position focuses on documentation accuracy, policy adherence, coordination with stakeholders, and assisting senior cybersecurity personnel in maintaining system security posture.

Responsibilities Duties include:

Assist senior Cybersecurity Analysts and the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in gathering, organizing, and maintaining cybersecurity documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and supporting artifacts.

Track and update system security documentation, records, and control evidence to ensure accuracy, version control, and compliance with approved policies, standards, and procedures.

Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities by assisting with control assessments, change tracking, and preparation of materials for security assessments and audits in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53.

Monitor and document security-relevant system changes and coordinate with engineering, operations, and program stakeholders to ensure changes follow approved cybersecurity processes.

Assist in preparing cybersecurity-related reports, correspondence, metrics, and technical summaries as directed.

Maintain accurate records of security findings, remediation actions, and risk mitigation activities.

Apply manager-approved risk management practices and elevate issues or discrepancies as appropriate.

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support secure operations while meeting mission and schedule requirements.

Desired Qualifications Additional desired qualification: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Requirements — Education, Technical, And Work Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or equivalent academic, technical training, or certification is required. One year or more of experience in computer systems security, information technology, or a related area of expertise, or the demonstrated ability to acquire required skills through training, is preferred.

Must meet Department of Defense (DoD) 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I requirements, including possession of CompTIA Security+ certification or completion of Security+ within a designated timeframe.

A minimum of one of the following certifications is required:

CompTIA Security+

CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security

Certified Network Defender (CND)

Network+

Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Salary The expected salary range for this position is 75,000.00 to 118,000.00 annually.

Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required.

Routine travel to remote company work locations and work in field environment with occasional overnight assignment may be required.
