$40,000 per year ($19.23 per hour)
Position Overview Compliance Specialist ensures that all HUD-funded programs (CoC and ESG) operate in full compliance with federal, state, local regulations and internal organizational policies. Supports program leadership in monitoring, reporting, and documenting fiscal accountability, program quality, and adherence to grant requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with GACD to ensure contract compliance
Prepare performance grant reports monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually
Secure and maintain clients’ files in an organized and secure fashion
Analyze outcomes and documentation to conclude program effectiveness and progress
Identify trends in documentation and communicate to GACD
Answer 24-hour hotlines and business line calls
Perform clerical tasks such as typing, copying, filing, proofreading
Assist with preparing grants for submission
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
Skills & Abilities:
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem-solving; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple projects; proficiency in Microsoft Office; database management experience a plus.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience with federal grants management, preferably HUD-funded programs (CoC and/or ESG).
Knowledge of 2 CFR 200, HUD HEARTH regulations, and CoC/ESG compliance standards.
Experience with HMIS or comparable data systems and nonprofit program monitoring preferred.
Flexible schedule, reliable transportation, valid Texas Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
Office environment with regular travel to partner sites, HUD monitoring visits, and community meetings.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
