Description This position supports and maintains the computers, software, and other specialized A/V technology in the production facility’s specialty spaces, ensuring that it is functional and updated.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains the reservation system for the specialty spaces identified above, communicating with students and ensuring access during operating hours.

Provides soundstage training to students, including safety, protocol, and specialized lighting operation (DMX/lighting board).

Advises students in the responsible and effective use of the department’s production equipment, including Developing camera and lighting workshops in tandem with the introductory and upper‑level production courses.

Maintaining a workshop schedule for individual students in the evenings.

Provides general building facilities support, including maintaining afternoon and evening drop‑in hours for student access, and providing back‑up for the equipment room manager.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in film or related field.

Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and assets.

Experience with various digital imaging hardware and post‑production software.

Experience managing employees, preferably student workers.

Afternoon and Evening availability required.

Additional Job Details The Emory Department of Film and Media seeks a part‑time Production Support/Academic Technology Specialist to support and maintain our new Production facility (scheduled to open in January 2026). This position will maintain technology in the Post‑Production Lab, Post‑Production Suite, ADR Booth, and Production Soundstage that supports the teaching and learning mission of the Film and Media Department production curriculum.

This hire will work closely with the Film and Media Production faculty and directly report to the Film and Media Department Academic Department Administrator.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in‑person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
